Amerika no tameni Aika
["A Lament for America"]
I.
America was once the land of the free
A land bought at a great cost.
Alas, to me, 'tis no longer Heaven on Earth;
To me, 'tis a Paradise Lost.
Long ago, this Nation loved her God,
But false patriots drive Him away.
Unless her people return to the Lord,
America's doom shall come one day.
Like Babylon, like Medo-Persia,
Greece, and even Rome,
Because of sin and wickedness,
Great tragedy now has come.
Unless America repents of her sins
And her God no more deny,
I weep to say, one tragic day,
America will die.
II.
The flag's stripes of red once stood for blood;
Our Nation's founders' great price.
But now its of the innocent unborn slain
And the scarlet of sin and vice.
Not just the unborn, but blood that was shed
By those innocents who needlessly died
Whether by unjust execution, a murderer's hands,
Or by foolish suicide.
Like Babylon, like Medo-Persia,
Greece, and even Rome,
Because of sin and wickedness,
Great tragedy now has come.
Unless America repents of her sins
And her God no more deny,
I weep to say, one tragic day,
America will die.
III.
The white once stood for purity
The founders did advise,
But now it stands for the teeth
Through which one tells his lies.
Blue once stood for the truth
But no longer this is true
For now it stands for tears
Shed o'er the loss of virtue.
Like Babylon, like Medo-Persia,
Greece, and even Rome,
Because of sin and wickedness,
Great tragedy now has come.
Unless America repents of her sins
And her God no more deny,
I weep to say, one tragic day,
America will die.
IV.
Very rarely a Nation's death from without;
Most perish from within,
Most empires crumble from arrogance
Or other fatal sin.
You love a lie, and abhor God's truth;
Should this not be reversed?
But because of extreme human nature,
This shall soon bring the final curse.
Like Babylon, like Medo-Persia,
Greece, and even Rome,
Because of sin and wickedness,
Great tragedy now has come.
Unless America repents of her sins
And her God no more deny,
I weep to say, one tragic day,
America will die.
V.
Perhaps a new Judas Iscariot
Shall strike the final blow.
Or a new Civil War will rise,
Worse than 1860's did know.
Perhaps a mix of these or even worse,
Will be this land's destiny.
Future children will weep, "Was this not because
Of America's apostacy?"
Like Babylon, like Medo-Persia,
Greece, and even Rome,
Because of sin and wickedness,
Great tragedy now has come.
Unless America repents of her sins
And her God no more deny,
I weep to say, one tragic day,
America will die.
