Let me explain some things of why I color the way I do: 1) Crayons cover more area with less drain. If I tried to color the WHOLE thing with colored pencils, they wear down FAST! So I use crayon for larger background areas, and colored pencils (Prismas if possible) for the characters and smaller parts. 2) Markers, to me, are not reliable--they dry up at the worst times. 3) I can't digitally color to save my life!
So... NO CRITIQUING ON MY ARTWORK WHEN IT SAYS "CRITIQUE NOT DESIRED!!!"

I have Prismacolors as well. And yes, they do wear down fast. The reason for this is because they have a lead in them that is rich with pigment, so you can get the nice bright colors Prismacolor is known for. Eventually, the pencil WILL wear down, and I have to suck it up and buy another.
And critique is not bad, if the person critiquing has thought out what they are saying. Critique is actually a great way to learn how to improve.
Really? I've seen some beautiful results with Prismacolors. If you blended Crayolas with them, there might be your problem.
If you want to learn how to use Prismas to their full potential, there are a lot of good tutorial websites that my art teacher showed my class in Art 2.
